I'll be in New Foundland soon!!! (or **********)

• Hello from North Sydney, NS. I'm waiting for the 23h30 ferry to Port aux Basques, NF. The waiting terminal here has showers (which I'm anxious to get into right after this), Internet access (for $$$), and I'll also have a bed on the ferry ($18). In addition, it has an awful cafeteria where all one can find is greasy food. Welcome to New Foundland. Luckily, I'm not going for the fine gastronomy. But I'm really excited to go to the big island for the 1st time. I've never been there, yet I've known all my life that I like it.
• The crossing takes ~5-6hrs. I'll be on the road early tomorrow morning. I hope I'll be in shape because I need to line up 4-5 good days starting tomorrow. It'll be a short stay for this time. The clock is ticking for me...

Good day from New Scotland!

Après une très longue journée hier (185km, 9.5hrs de vélo et vent de face sur la majeure partie), je suis arrivé en Nouvelle Écosse par le traversier tard hier soir ~21hr. Les journées ne sont plus se qu'elles étaient. Il fait maintenant noir plus tôt. J'ai du me coucher dans ma tente et mes trucs encore mouillés, mais j'ai quand même assez bien dormi. Je m'en vais reprendre la route. Je pense que le vent est bon aujourd'hui.

Hello from PEI (or ********II)

I've just made it to PEI using the shuttle. Seeing the Atlantic this morning, 53 days after leaving the Pacific Ocean, made a huge pinch to my heart. I even stopped to take a picture.

I had a really great morning from Moncton to the Confederation bridge (~95km) - beautiful blue sky, west wind, one could smell the sea from at least 40-50km before getting to the bridge. I had a nicer lunch than usual (a can of tuna) while I was waiting for the shuttle.

I've got to get back on the road. PEI is a bigger island than I expected. I still have a lot of pedaling to do...

• Alors voilà, je suis maintenant à Rivière du Loup où je prends ma 1ere journée complète de congé depuis Regina. Le vélo est au garage pour la journée. Il a besoin d'un nouveau pneu arrière, nouvelle chaîne, graissage des pédales, etc.
  

• Je suis passé au nord de Montréal mardi dernier. J'ai loué un B&B qui était en fait le sous-sol d'une très jolie maison avec une super piscine. La réunion familiale a été une réussite complète. Plus de détails dans le journal.

• J'en profite aussi pour planifier le dernier segment du voyage. J'ai finalement acheté ce matin une carte des Maritimes. Je reprend la route tôt demain matin, et j'espère être au NB très bientôt. On m'a dit que les gens là bas sont très gentils.
  

• J'ai ajouté les entrées du 6 au 16 août au journal.

C'est long, long, l'Ontario...

I've finally made it to Sault Ste Marie today, and I'm now out of the Lake Superior area. It's very pretty, but not too friendly to cyclists.

I've added entries to the journal from July 31st to Aug 5th.
